Cala runs on your computer. Your documents, and everything Cala learns from them, stay there. We do not upload them and we do not store them on our servers.
When you ask a question, that question and the pages being read go to the inference provider, through a proxy that keeps nothing on the way.

Requirements
- 8 GB RAM, and 16 GB if you load big document sets.
- 2 GB free disk, more as you add documents.
- An internet connection while Cala is working on a problem.
Bring one document
Have the tool’s handbook ready before you first open Cala. Start with the highest-level document you have. A manual that walks through the subsystems teaches Cala the shape of the whole tool. An error-code list only teaches it parts.
Load documents with a real text layer wherever you can. Cala reads scans and photographs, but it reads them less reliably, and a misread value is the one kind of error worth avoiding at the source.
Only load documentation you have the right to use. Cala is not a way around anyone’s document policy, and the terms are explicit about that. Read the acceptable use section.
Before you act on anything Cala tells you, check it against the original OEM documentation and procedures.
Cala is decision support for a qualified engineer, not for automated control, interlocks or safety functions.
